FRENIC-Eco, type FRN…F1, was Fuji Electric’s dedicated fan and pump inverter, aimed at HVAC plant: chillers, air handling units and fan coil units. It is a single rating, variable torque drive with a 120 per cent for one minute overload, and the only control method is V/f, with a starting torque of 50 per cent or more.
The European range runs from 0.75 kW to 560 kW on three-phase 400 V. Fan and pump features include PID process control, a built-in commercial line switching sequence, multi-pump rotation, slow flowrate stop, overload avoidance and automatic energy saving. The series is discontinued, with last orders in the Americas in March 2025.
There is no braking chopper and no braking resistor anywhere in the range, only DC injection braking. The DC link must be confirmed below 25 V DC before work, after five minutes on units of 30 kW or below and ten minutes at 37 kW and above.
