The VACON NXS is the standard-performance member of the VACON NX platform. It shares power hardware, enclosure sizes, keypad and option boards with the higher-specification VACON NXP, but has no closed-loop vector mode, offering U/f and open-loop sensorless vector only, and its range stops at frame FR11 where the NXP continues to FR14.
Ratings run from 0.37 kW at high overload on 230 V to 560 kW at low overload on 690 V, each published twice, at 110 per cent up to 40 °C and 150 per cent up to 50 °C. Frames FR4 to FR9 are wall-mounted, FR10 and FR11 standalone.
The control unit has no fixed I/O: five slots, A to E, take a mix of basic, expander and fieldbus boards, so an input that appears dead may be a card or slot problem rather than a control-board failure. The snap-on cooling fan is the only regularly replaceable component. Danfoss lists the NXS in its active drives range.
