The Magnetek HPV 600 is a small-frame AC variable-frequency elevator drive that sits below the HPV 900 in Magnetek’s HPV line, built for geared traction machines.
It ships as an open A, B or C cube chassis for mounting inside a controller cabinet. North American ratings cover 7.5 to 20 HP on 208/230 V and 10 to 25 HP on 460 V, European ratings 4 to 22 kW on 400 V. Overload is 150 per cent of continuous current for 60 seconds and 200 per cent for 5 seconds, and braking is non-regenerative, through an internal IGBT into an external resistor.
Read the nameplate model number first: the encoder card and the RS-422 or RS-485 comms card are model-number options, so it is the only way to tell what a unit can do. Columbus McKinnon has named no successor for the HPV 600, so units in service, many inside third-party controllers such as the MCE Tricon, are kept running rather than replaced.
