About

SIMOVERT SC is the Servo Control version of the Siemens SIMOVERT MASTER DRIVES 6SE70 family, one of three original control versions alongside Frequency Control for simple duty such as pumps and fans and Vector Control where dynamic performance and accuracy matter.

Where FC and VC drive induction motors, SC is specified for single-motor drives with permanent-field 1FT6 servo motors, using ERN 1387 or compatible encoders, or resolvers, for feedback. Control is field-oriented vector, in closed-loop speed or closed-loop torque mode, to a maximum stator frequency of 400 Hz.

The AC-AC units take a three-phase mains supply at 208-230 V or 380-460 V. The DC-AC units take an external DC link at 280-310 V or 510-620 V and provide the inverter stage only, so they cannot be tested from a mains supply. Because the 6SE70 control versions share the same hardware and ratings, the order number is the only reliable identifier: every SIMOVERT SC number ends 30.
