The Magnetek DSD 412 is a fully digital DC elevator drive built on a twelve-SCR, six-pulse regenerative bridge, with a current-regulated shunt field supply and automatic field weakening. Magnetek aimed it at geared and gearless machines, mostly for modernisation work replacing older DC drives and motor-generator sets.
The E-Reg velocity regulator holds speed to 0.05 per cent with encoder feedback, and rated output runs from 25 A to 1270 A DC on a 150 to 525 V AC supply, with overload at 150 per cent for one minute and 250 per cent for five seconds.
Read the rating before planning a repair. Columbus McKinnon moved the 15, 30, 300, 400, 600 and 800 HP ratings to Obsolete Phase on 2 April 2026 and discontinued Generation 1 software across all models, leaving the 60 HP rating alone still active. Above 250 HP the published migration path is the Quattro DC.
