The ZETADYN 2SY is the synchronous-motor half of Ziehl-Abegg’s second-generation lift drive pair, alongside the asynchronous ZETADYN 2CF. It is a complete unit: an integral line reactor, a type FEF radio interference filter and two motor contactors all sit inside the case. The type number reads 2SY, then the nominal current, then S for the version with motor contactors and 4 for 400 V.
It drives permanent-magnet machines, so an absolute encoder is mandatory and a normal incremental encoder will not work. Eight rated sizes run from 13 A to 74 A, about 5.5 kW to 37 kW at 400 V, with overload to 1.8 times rated current for ten seconds.
The motor contactors short the synchronous motor windings to give a speed-dependent braking torque, so with the inverter removed the motor cable must be shorted or the car can run away when the brakes open. That is also why no contactorless version of the 2SY was ever built.

Type code: the number is the nominal current in amps (013 = 13 A through to 074 = 74 A), 4 denotes the 400 V rated voltage and S is the version with motor contactors. The 2SY range is supplied only in the version with motor contactors, because the 2SY relies on those contactors to short the synchronous motor windings.
