SIMODRIVE 611 is a servo drive system for machine tools, not a single drive. Siemens builds a group from a line filter, commutating reactors, an infeed module, one or more power modules and matched control units on a common DC link. A unit on a repair bench is one module out of that group, with its own 6SN11 article number.
Regulated infeed and regenerative feedback modules, 16 kW to 120 kW, hold the DC link at 600 V or 625 V and return braking energy to the supply. Unregulated infeed modules, 5 kW to 28 kW, dump it into a pulsed resistor instead.
A power module has no rectifier of its own, so it cannot be bench-tested from a mains supply: it needs 600 or 625 V DC from an infeed module. Pulse frequency is a commissioning setting with rating consequences: a module set to 8 kHz is derated to roughly 55 per cent of its 4 kHz nominal current.
Modular drive group: infeed module, power modules and control units on a common DC link
One-axis power modules from 3 A to 200 A nominal, and two-axis modules to 24 A per axis
Feed axis, main spindle and induction motor operation from the same hardware
Internal, external and hose cooling variants
Regulated infeed modules return braking energy to the supply; unregulated modules use a pulsed resistor
Drives 1FT6, 1FK6 and 1FK7 servo, 1FW6 torque, 1FN linear and 1PH spindle motors
