The V7, type code CIMR-V7, is Yaskawa’s compact general purpose inverter drive, also identified as GPD 315, GPD 315/V7, GPD315/V74X, V74X and VS Mini V7. It is a sine coded pulse width modulated drive for standard squirrel cage induction motors, with parameter n002 selecting V/f or open loop vector control.
Rated performance is 150 per cent overload for one minute and a programmable maximum output frequency of 400 Hz. A braking transistor is built in, giving about 20 per cent continuous regenerative torque, up to 150 per cent with the optional braking resistor. Published ratings run from 1/8 to 10 horsepower on 230 V and 1/2 to 15 horsepower on 460 V.
The model number and the SPEC number are both needed to define a V7, and the 47P5 code shows why: as a NEMA 1 V7 it is 18.8 A with a 150 per cent one minute overload, as a NEMA 4X/12 V74X 21.0 A with 120 per cent.
